Winter School 2023
The ASTRAL project is pleased to acknowledge the successful conclusion of its in-person Winter School, titled "Technologies and Circularity for a Sustainable Aquaculture." The event, led by ASTRAL consortium partner Leitat Technological Center, was hosted at the DFactory in Barcelona in November 2023. The Winter School explored innovative technologies and circular economy approaches aimed at addressing challenges to improve the environmental footprint of the aquaculture industry.
During the event, academic experts, industry leaders, and policymakers collaboratively explored global challenges faced by the EU aquaculture sector. Participants, including students, researchers, technology developers, and industry experts passionate about sustainability in aquaculture, engaged in workshops, lab visits, and panel discussions. The focus areas included Sustainability, Technology, and Circularity, each contributing to the advancement of a more sustainable and competitive EU aquaculture sector.
The Winter School served as a platform for knowledge sharing, fostering greater collaboration among key actors in the industry. The ASTRAL project remains committed to overcoming sector barriers through continued innovation in technologies and circular approaches.
