Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique (PMBA) is a maritime innovation cluster whose aim is to develop maritime innovation through a network of stakeholders. Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, based in Plouzané (FRANCE), supports the emergence of innovative projects in the field of the sea: networking academic and industrial skills, finding funding opportunities, helping SMEs to invest in R&D and access markets for their new products and services, international development. The association has over 440 members (large corporations, SMEs, research and university centres) and is active in six innovation areas: Maritime Defence, Security, Marine and Nautical, Marine Energy and Mineral Resources, Marine Biological Resources, Coastal and Marine Environment, Ports, Infrastructure and Logistics.
In ASTRAL, Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique holds the responsibility of leading Work Package 6: "Socio-economics, business models and profitability of IMTA", which aims to reference best practices in the sector and create a business plan for the creation of new IMTA laboratories. This work is carried out jointly with Technopole Quimper-Cournouaille as the third party of the cluster.
