Policy Recommendations Workshop
ASTRAL (All Atlantic Ocean Sustainable, Profitable and Resilient Aquaculture) is developing a series of policy recommendations to encourage sustainable, equitable and resilient aquaculture. This involves a comparison of existing aquaculture legislation including aspects such as the assessment of innovative, sustainable, cost-effective technologies and the identification of potential barriers, limitations and challenges in several Atlantic countries and open comparison with diverse contexts ranging from local to national and global scales.
Under this premise, the policy recommendations workshop is an opportunity to share experiences and information on regulations in diverse countries and different administrative levels that guide the implementation of aquaculture practices. It will also address innovations in the policy field and initiatives that influence the reproduction of IMTA systems.
Keynote speakers involved in the development and promotion of the integrated multi-trophic aquaculture model will be part of this workshop. Their extensive knowledge and experience in the field make them suitable guests to participate in this dynamic.
Speakers:
Thierry Chopin
Rosa Chapela
Laura Ferguson
Furthermore, participants from different spheres, such as politics, the private sector, academia, and technology, will participate in this workshop. In this regard, discussions in this space will represent a valuable contribution to aquaculture policy.
The workshop will take place on November 8 from 10:00 to 12:00 am in Barcelona and participants will have the possibility to intervene in person or online.
